FAQ

CONTENT RESTRICTIONS

The goal is to collect a digital copy of reality.
This means all 3d scan data must consist of real physical locations and can be placed on the surface of the planet.

The asset location as well as the date of capture are important in order to allow for both geo-spacial and temporal (in time) positioning.

FILE FORMATS

The following is a list of the asset types we can currently process.

  • Polygon Mesh Data - Wavefront OBJ (.obj), Filmbox (.fbx), COLLADA (.dae)
  • Point Clouds - LASer (.las, .laz)

Since only one file is accepted at a time is recommended to ZIP all the parts of the asset into one file. This will speed up the upload and make better use of your available disk quota.
If you are uploading a .laz file, you don't need to zip it, since that format is already compressed and will not gain anything fur running through a ZIP compression.

FILE SIZES

Use the following as guidelines of our current capabilities. We are continually working on improving these numbers.

  • Point Clouds sizes of up to 4GB .laz files have been tested
  • Polygon Mesh data (from photogrammetry models) has been tested with up to 2GB ZIPPED files (mesh + texture data)

If you have a file larger then those numbers, contact us and we will upload the asset manually into your account.
